Christopher Ryan Wade, passed away on Wednesday surrounded by his loved ones. Chris was born in Dallas, TX, and was raised in Oklahoma City by his parents Murry Wade, & Ellie (Tuttle) Wade. Chris attended Sky Ranch Elementary, Moore West Jr. High, and graduated from Westmoore High School in 2003.
Chris was a trickster and an untamed soul. He could put a smile on your face by pulling something from his sleeve with a witty joke, while slyly smiling, and you’d lose your ability to be upset any longer. He was immensely smart and applied that in teaching himself how to do anything, a Jack of all trades if you will. He would educate himself on how to do anything; from fixing car engines, to learning and understanding Law. He was also incredibly athletic and competitive. He enjoyed playing soccer up until he started coaching for Penny’s soccer team in 2021. He could skateboard, snowboard, kayak, wakeboard, ski (you name it). His tricks, antics, and wipeouts were some for the books. About the only thing he couldn’t do was ride a scooter without crashing.
Chris was the life of the party because, more often than not, he was the party. The amount of entertainment that Chris had in him was unbelievable. He had a ridiculous amount of energy, and he harnessed it in everything he did. Chris never met a stranger. He had the ability to make friends wherever he went. His outgoing personality, his unforgettable sense of humor, and his smile could light up a room. He could strike up a conversation, and win your heart in one fell swoop. Chris was un-apologetically Chris, through and through. He was a “take the risk and pay the consequences” type of man but always escaped them with merely a scratch. This loss hits deeper than most, because Chris kept the carefree spirit, that most of us lose as we age, or when the world gets too dreary.
Most importantly, he was a Father and Daddy. He loved his children with everything in him. The loss of Wylder in 2020 was an extremely difficult season in life, luckily he had Penny to put all his energy into. He loved every second that he got to watch her grow and had the opportunity to coach her first soccer team. Chris loved Penny with all his heart, and often said, she was his greatest accomplishment.
Everyone who was a friend of Chris’ knew that he would always be himself no matter the place, time, or occasion. He was a lot of things, and made an impact on an enormous group of people. Chris will be cherished in our hearts as a treasured son, a tenacious husband, a wonderful father, and a great friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
