Obituary for Connie Dean Ward (Dykes)
Connie Dean Ward (Dykes) stepped into Glory on February 10, 2023 with the biggest smile as she met her Jesus face to face. Born April 5, 1941 to Muriel and Nadine Dykes in OKC, OK where she spent her entire life.
Connie leaves behind her two children Jay Armstrong and Jill Angel, son in law, Chuck Angel and four grandchildren: Celeste Mickelson, Joseph Angel, Charissa deLuna, and Caleigh Hebert with the icing on the cake being her first great grandson Jett deLuna. They all adored their Gran.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years James Ward. Although she had no siblings, two special “sisters” graced her life with friendship. Her dearest friend since middle school Ann Simonton and her cousin, Carolyn Guthery.
Connie loved to be outside working in her flowerbeds making everything beautiful. She had an eye for design and making her house a home. Her smile could light up a thousand night skies and used it to be a greeter at Heritage Church. She wanted everyone to feel loved and welcomed.
Mom, Gran, friend, worshipper, coffee lover, good neighbor, and Christ follower will be greatly missed but we know we will see her again. Her hope was firm and her faith was sure.
