Obituary for Don Alexander

Donald Ray Alexander
April 16, 1937 ~ November 22, 2022

Donald Ray Alexander went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at the age 85. The middle of five children born to Dorothy Jane (Smith) and Archie Clinton Alexander, Don was born on April 16, 1937 in Cashion, Oklahoma. He grew up attending Marland Elementary Schools since the family lived adjacent to the famous 101 Ranch. Don graduated Ponca City High School in 1956 and always enjoyed the many reunions with his classmates throughout the years. After graduating from high school, Don enlisted in the United States Army and honorably served his country in Korea. After his honorable discharge from the service, Don began a career working as a truck driver. He had a successful career, later retiring in 1997 from Scrivner – Fleming Wholesale Foods. In 1981, Don met the love of his life, Ruetta Joyce Baker and the two became inseparable. They were united in marriage in 1983. Don and Ruetta enjoyed traveling across the country in their RV making many wonderful friends and memories along the way. They were longtime members of the OK Roamers RV Club and the National RV Club for many years, spending the majority of the winter months in south Texas and more recently in Florida. Don enjoyed spending time with his lifelong friends, Jerry Vap (deceased), Benny Janda (deceased) and Ron Cronk whom Don enjoyed having many occasional breakfasts with throughout the years. Don also had a very deep appreciation and love for all things MOPAR, regardless if it were cars, trucks, engines, motors, parts and Don would argue with anyone that MOPAR was the BEST! Don was a loving husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, cherished brother and faithful friend who will be deeply missed each day.
