Obituary for Gloria Sue Fisher

Gloria Sue Fisher, 86, passed on January 25, 2023. The daughter of Jake Elbert Helton and Lessie Gladys Helton (Lumpkin), she was born on December 30, 1936. She grew up attending schools in Waurika, Oklahoma. She was in the band and played the French Horn all throughout high school. She then graduated from Waurika High School in May of 1955. Gloria met the love of her life, Roy Wayne Fisher, in high school and shortly after graduating, they got married on July 3, 1955. This union of marriage was blessed with four children, Eddie, Mark, and twins Terri and Jerry. Gloria continued her education and got her LPN degree in 1976. She worked at South Community Hospital now known as Southwest Medical Center on the med surge floor for 26 years. During this time, she met a dear friend who has remained close to the family, Issac Oligide and later his family became close with Gloria. Gloria loved taking care of her cats, cooking and baking, and was a HUGE Thunder Fan. Gloria enjoyed her sister trips, and they went to Quartz Mountain State Park in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma quite a bit. Gloria is known for her sugar cookies that her kids and grandkids loved. She will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Gloria loved and cared deeply for her family and she will be held close to our hearts each day. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Lessie Helton, husband Roy Wayne Fisher, her son, Eddie Wayne Fisher, and siblings, Hazel Joy Helton, Shirley Jo Helton Hamula, Lenta Mae Helton, and JW Helton. She is survived by her 3 children, Terri Diane Humphrey, Jerry Brian Fisher, and Cloyd Mark Fisher, her sister Bobbie Laverne Curry, her 5 grandchildren, Jeffrey Reese Fisher, Gloria Anne Steiger, Sabrina Jane Humphrey, Chase Parker Humphrey, and Alexander Jacob Stimpson Fisher, her 5 great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
