Linda King Dearman
August 23, 1943 – January 24, 2022
Linda King Dearman, 78, went to be with her Heavenly father on January 24, 2022. The daughter of Howard Clothin Matlock and Bertha King Matlock, she was born August 23, 1943 in Bristow, Oklahoma. She grew up attending schools in the Bristow area and graduated from Bristow High School in Bristow, Oklahoma. On July 11, 1963, she married her sweetheart, Harold D. Dearman and together shared more than 22 years together. This union of marriage was blessed with two children. In addition, to being a loving wife, devoted mother and dedicated homemaker, Linda also worked as a Teaching Assistant for the Oklahoma City Public School system primarily at Stand Waite Elementary for many years prior to her retiring. Linda was very passionate about working with gifted children, sitting on her porch at sunset and watching football on Saturdays, but nothing was as important as being with her family whom she loved with all her heart. Linda was known for her Kindness and Loving Heart and will be fondly remembered as having a generous and spunky personality. She loved and cared deeply for her family and she will be held close to our hearts each day. She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Clothin Matlock and mother, Bertha King Matlock; husband, Harold Dearman; and brother, James Matlock Sr. Linda leaves behind her loving family including her son, Howard Dearman and wife Barbara of Oklahoma City; daughter, Tammy Barnes and husband Mike, of Yukon, Oklahoma; sister, Caroline LeGrande and her husband, Ralph; four grandchildren, Steven Dearman, Daniel Dearman, Cody Barnes and Aaron Barnes; along with two great grandchildren, Cambria and Tucker Barnes. Linda also spent a lot of her days with her close friend and neighbor, Gaylla Brown.
