Obituary for Michaela Ann Grundy

Michaela Ann Grundy
February 8th 1994 – May 16th, 2022

Michaela Ann Grundy, beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, fiancé and friend, unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 16, 2022 at the young age of 28. Michaela blessed the earth and her mother, Lisa Dawn Grundy’s life, on February 8th, 1994. She was born in Oklahoma City. Michaela grew up attending Edmond and Oklahoma City schools and graduated from Southeast High School in 2012. After her graduation, she began working various vocations including Starbucks and most recently was working at Indigo Apartments through Weidner Property Management as an Assistant Community Director. She loved her job and making a difference in the lives of others. Michaela loved life and had many different interests including music, movies, reading books of all kinds and beating her sister and fiancé playing her Switch. She will always be remembered as a warm and friendly person who had a talent for making others feel comfortable and welcome in whatever setting she was in. She loved to share time with family and friends, whom she adored. One of the highlights in her life was her little sister, Addison. She took such happiness and pride in each accomplishment she was witness to as Addison grew from a child into a young adult. In the last few years of her life, Michaela had found her soulmate in Joshua Smith and they were to be married this October. Their love for each other was apparent to all who knew them or saw them together. The other great source of joy to her was being a “dogmom” to her sweet boy ‘Kingsley.” Although her presence here was far too brief and she will be missed each and every day, we rejoice in knowing that Michaela is dancing in Heaven and hugging the grandparents, family and friends who have gone before her. We will find peace in knowing we will someday be reunited with her and she will be the first to greet us with her bright smile and her warm hugs while asking a bit impatiently “What took you so long?” May we all feel her joyful presence and allow it to live through us.
