Obituary for Richard Alvin Mansfield

Richard Mansfield was born in Ennis Texas on July 11, 1953. He is preceded in death by his parents, LuElla and Alvin Mansfield. He is survived by a brother and a sister, 3 biological children (not to mention the dozens he has picked up along the way), many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Richard had a great love for darts and his 1967 Chevelle SS that he restored many, many years ago. He was very active in car shows and loved talking to people about his car. He had an even greater love of time with close friends and family. He never knew a stranger and he always took the time to teach someone how to become a better dart player. He never missed the opportunity to tell someone a good story, even though some stories left us wondering how true or embellished they really were. He definitely lived life to the fullest and always had a unique of living it. I have heard him referred to as The Godfather of darts. The Legend. But outside of darts, I know my dad is greatly loved by many and greatly missed by many. My dad never said goodbye to me on the phone or in text. He always said, "Miss you bunches, love you, talk to you soon and give everyone hugs and kisses." So, I'm going to say it for him: He miss you bunches, he loves you, he will talk to you soon and is sending you hugs and kisses!
