Obituary for Jack Voyles

Ronald Jack “Papa” Voyles was born November 15, 1936 in Blanchard, Oklahoma. One of five sons to Claud and Mary (Fenimore) Voyles. Jack passed from this life on the morning of December 1, 2022 after a long illness. Jack graduated from Bridge Creek High School in 1955. While in High School he excelled in baseball, basketball, and track. After graduation he signed with the St. Louis Cardinals as a left-handed pitcher. Later he also played baseball for Oklahoma Natural Gas “Gassers” baseball team for several years. Jack married the love of his life Jaurita on October 1, 1955 and they recently celebrated an incredible 67 years of marriage. After Jack’s baseball career he was employed with ONG for 39 years, in which he developed friendships that lasted a lifetime. Jack enjoyed going to their lake house at Tenkiller, where many amazing memories were made. He enjoyed skiing and fishing with his son and son-in-law. He loved teaching his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and countless friends to water ski. Jack did not allow you back in the boat until you got up. He created friendships while playing golf at Westbury, Willow Creek, Hidden Trails Country Clubs and Moore Golf Club. He loved golf and being outdoors. Also he enjoyed hunting with Woxi Ryal and Jim Garrett. Nothing made Jack happier than spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He would attend every sports event, dance, and piano recital.
In his retirement, Jack and Jaurita traveled to Europe, Australia, the U.S. including Alaska and Hawaii. They went on numerous cruises with family and friends. They also attended The Masters Golf Tournament 13 times.

Jack was preceded in death by his:
Parents, Claud and Mary Voyles;
Brothers: Ross, Maurice, Billy and J.W. Voyles;
Daughter-in-law, Kim (Williams) Voyles.

Jack leaves behind his:
Wife of 67 years, Jaurita Ann (Baker) Voyles;
Son, Curtis Voyles;
Daughter, Kimberly (Voyles) Dunn and son-in-law, Kevin Dunn and Toni Hamblet;
Granddaughter, Melissa Lemming and husband, Ric Lemming;
Grandson, Matthew Voyles and wife, Haley Voyles;
Grandson, Michael Dunn;
Granddaughter, Michelle Dunn;
Great Grandchildren: Madelyn and Will Lemming, Lydia and Lane Voyles.
