Obituary for Susan Sheryl Parker (Embrey)

Susan Sheryl Parker was welcomed into Heaven by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 30, 2022. She touched many lives through her Christian example. While Susan will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends, we are comforted by the believers’ promise that this is not goodbye.

Susan was born on January 4, 1954, in McAlester, Oklahoma, to Bill G. and Helen L. (Hanson) Embrey. She spent most of her childhood in Oklahoma City, having attended Prairie Queen Elementary, Jefferson Junior High School, and U.S. Grant High School, from where she graduated in 1972.

Subsequently, Susan married the love of her life, Terry J. Parker, on June 16, 1972, and together they raised two sons: Geoffrey and Scott. She managed her family’s property firm for several years and worshipped at Shartel Church of God for nearly five decades.

Susan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who dedicated her life to fulfilling the Lord's will through her compassionate and caring nature. She cherished family traditions and was always planning the next gathering. As a result, Susan leaves behind countless happy memories for her loved ones to treasure until they meet again.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents and nephew Doug Lambert. She is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Terry. Her legacy continues through their two sons and their wives: Geoffrey and Andrea Parker; Scott and Heather Parker; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; sister Karen Atkins and brother-in-law Tom Kimber, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
